Rule One
Same Denominator
If the denominators are the same, compare the numerators.
- The fraction with the larger numerator is greater.
- The fraction with the smaller numerator is smaller.
✏️ Create your own fractions
This rule needs equal denominators, so Denom A and Denom B stay locked together — change either one and both update.

Rule Three
Different Numerators & Denominators
Use the Cross Multiplication Method.
- Multiply the numerator of the first fraction by the denominator of the second.
- Multiply the numerator of the second fraction by the denominator of the first.
- Compare the two products — the larger product marks the greater fraction.
✏️ Create your own fractions
Any two fractions work — the cross products decide who wins.

Rule Four
Convert to Like Fractions (LCM Method)
- Find the LCM of the denominators.
- Convert both fractions into equivalent fractions with that denominator.
- Compare the numerators.
✏️ Create your own fractions
The LCM is found automatically and both fractions are converted to it.
